David Schwartz, stock market historian, dies
David Schwartz, the stock market historian and columnist, has died from cancer aged 73.
Schwartz, well-known for his statistical analysis of the equity markets, was the author of a number books on stock market investing.
Born in the Bronx in 1940, Schwartz, the son of a fireman, studied statistics at City College of New York before becoming a market researcher.
He went on to found his own business, Consumer Response Corporation, and also worked on former US President Ronald Reagan’s election campaign, carrying out opinion polling on the campaign advertising.
After selling his market research company he moved to the UK with his British wife, Pippa, in 1987 and began to apply his statistical training to the stock markets, for which he became famous....
