Your Take (Instructions for First-Time Users)

Now YOU can become an HNN blogger.

Welcome to Your Take, an experiment that will test the limits of democracy in the blogosphere.

Your Take is designed to give you--our readers--a national platform for your views. Now in addition to commenting on other people's blogs, you can join one. (If you don't know what a blog is, click here.)

3 Easy Steps to Blogging

#1Register

All you have to do to blog on HNN is to become a registered user of our system and agree to the rules governing our open forums. Signing up is easy. Just click here. (If you are already signed up to post comments on the discussion boards you do not have to sign up again. You can use the same user name and password you are already using.)

#2Log In

Once you have signed up you can blog repeatedly. But you always have to be logged into the system in order to blog. You can log in directly from the blog. Just go to one of the Your Take blogs listed above and click on the words"Log in" located in the left-hand margin below the list of HNN's departments.

#3 Go Ahead and Blog

After you log in, you are now ready to blog.

To add your own entry, follow the instructions provided. A new page will pop up. When it appears, insert a title in the first open box and your blog entry in the large second box. Your name will automatically appear in the title line when the blog is published. You will not need to write your name.

You do not need to know html coding to blog. Our system will add the necessary html coding automatically. It will turn links hot automatically. (Pictures and photographs cannot be displayed.)

To publish your blog entry live, just click on the button which says:"Click here to Publish Your Entry Live."
