Get Out of Iraq Now! (Petition)

Howard Zinn and other prominent leftists are circulating this petition calling for an immediate U.S. pull-out from Iraq. The wording is pretty straightforward and mercifully free of statist jargon.

If you sign, make sure to say something about yourself in the blank on the right. Of course, feel free to use it to say that you are a Liberty and Power reader.

Good question. In principle, victims should sue those who authorize and perpetrate the offense not innocent taxpayers. I realize that no collection of officials have enough personal assets to repair Iraq's society.

Should a principled libertarian object to reparations paid by, say, a city to the victims of an improper police search?

I note that long-time libertarian Less Antman has signed the petition as number 3052.

Hmm....I didn't notice that.

Sorry, I trimmed the wrong extra post by Shenoy. Sheldon Richmond responded:

I hate to sign something with such misstatements and bad proposals. Too bad there's no place to note exceptions.

The petition also blames the US govt for exacerbating 'sectarian tensions' by supporting the present Iraqi govt. This is tosh; the divisions run very, very deep; the current Iraqi govt is essentially a bystander. In short, even these 'internationalists' regard non-Americans as puppets, with no will or history of their own. No matter. JUST GO!!!

Alas, the petition calls for reparations. I didn't favor breaking Iraq, why do I have to pay to fix it?
