NORWEGIAN CAMPAIN TO BUY DANISH/ update

To be honest, I owe an apology to Norwegians. Their governments may leave plenty to be desired but, then as now, many Norwegians did the right thing. Then they were partisans. Now, they started their own "Buy Danish" campaign. Let's remember:

Danish Havarti cheese

Carlsberg and Tuborg Beers.

Arla owns White Clover Dairy, a Wisconsin company so buy that brand. It comes under White Clover and Holland Farm.

Danish Crown hams ( DAK (sold at Sam clubs)... baby back ribs, because they come from Denmark.

You shop online at The Danish Foodshop and Danish Deli Foods.

You can also buy gorgeous Danish porcelain and LEGO for the kids.

By the way some websites are doing the same in Egypt, Germany, Israel , Albania. You might as well know that according to a Dane who wrote me, we are bringing a "ray of sunshine" to their otherwise stormy weather.

You may also wish to read Andrew Sullivan's perceptive take on this subject. He points out that the cartoons are not particularly offensive. Apparently, the Danish Muslims agreed. So when they went on tour, they added (made up) 3 more. You can find those on wikipedia in the section entitled "rumors and misinformation". You would not be surprised to discover that the BBC story published yesterday used one of the phony cartoons to illustrate the story.
