EU STARTS TALKING WITH HAMAS

O.K., it's not a big surprise. We all expected it. But here it is:

In conclusion, the Sub-Committee unanimously agreed to invite a delegation of the Palestinian Legislative Council, including a member of Hamas, to its next meeting which will be held during the April part-session (10-13 April 2006).
"We cannot ignore the legitimate outcome of the parliamentary elections which took place on 25 January 2006," said the Sub-Committee’s Chairperson Stef Goris (Belgium, ADLE).

And just in case you were not sure, the appeasers have the support of (you guessed it ) Bill Clinton (also read ). Does that mean also the support of Hillary? Following the Dubai debacle, he promised to clear policy pronouncements with her staff.

I also wonder how the EU would have responded if an Israeli diplomat would have said he was dreaming of the destruction of the Palestinians:

The senior official also defended Hamas' ultimate goal of destroying Israel and founding an Islamic state.
"I dreams of hanging a huge map of the world on the wall at my Gaza home which does not show Israel on it," he said. "I hope that our dream to have our independent state on all historic Palestine (including Israel)."
"This dream will become real one day. I'm certain of this because there is no place for the state of Israel on this land," said al-Zahar.
