Mr. Butler, a professor of history at Yale, spoke on the subject of"Evangelical Religion in America." His comments came in response to two papers delivered by George Marsden and Lisa McGirr.

In this interview Tufts professor Felipe Fernandez-Armesto denies that he offered physical resistance to the Atlanta police officer who arrested him for jaywalking, as the officer claimed in an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Fernandez-Armesto, an erstwhile Oxford don who now teaches at Tufts, indicated he may have to take further action to clear his good name. The implication was that he might sue.

Comment by Mr. Taylor on his interview (1-8-07):"My remarks were not meant as a critique of any individual, rather a statement of concern regarding increasing community influence on the content of university courses.  For all who call academe their home, intellectual freedom and the ever-present attacks upon it should be viewed with disquiet, no matter from whence they come."
