Thanks!! I've spent the last year in the odd status of tenured assistant prof. After all the gypsy years, it's nice to be relatively settled.

Thanks Chris! The tenuring and promotions processes here are thankfully more rational than at American Idol.
Further clarification for those who were curious: I spent 8 or so years in non-tenure-track positions before landing here, then was eligible to apply for tenure early (credit for "time served"?), but promotion and tenure are de-linked here, so I was obliged to wait a year before applying for associate. But now I'm both, Zeus be praised.
