Do We Need a Four-Day Workweek?

Over 60 companies and nearly 3,000 employees in the UK participated in a six-month study by participating in a four-day work week. The survey results are clear: most employees prefer a shorter work week.

We’re talking to Erik Loomis, professor and labor historian at the University of Rhode Island, about the implications of a four-day work week for labor in the U.S. We’re also looking at the impact of unions, the pandemic, and technology on American labor to see how our conceptions of work have changed in the last century.
