Lisa Wilson: Conn College Professor Featured On History Channel Mayflower Documentary

Lisa Wilson, a professor of American history at Connecticut College, is featured as a commentator in the History Channel's original documentary, “Desperate Crossing: The Untold Story of the Mayflower,” which will debut on the History Channel at 8 p.m. Sunday.

Wilson, who specializes in colonial British North America, comments on the domestic life of women and men in early New England. She was also interviewed about the mysterious death of the wife of the colony's first governor, William Bradford.

“Desperate Crossing” premiered at the Boston Film Festival in October. Wilson, a colonial historian with an interest in gender, is in Boston this year on a fellowship, researching a book project, “Cinderella's Family: Stepfamily Tradition in Eighteenth Century New England.”
