Archaeologist Win Scutt discusses a Roman altar unearthed in Manchester, England; the publishing of the excavation of a Anglo-Saxon cemetery in Yorkshire, England; a different kind of Anglo-Saxon cemetery discovered in Oxford, England; a huge Viking hoard found in Sweden; and the excavation of a South African concentration camp run by the British during the Boer War. Scutt's "This Week in the World of Archaeology" news feature is part of BBC Radio 5 Live's popular "Up All Night" programme. Interviewed by presenter Rhod Sharp, Scutt offers 15 minutes of archaeology each Tuesday, reaching over 1 million visitors who are mad enough to stay up to 3.30am GMT to listen. In 2006 Scutt's Radio 5 Live reports scooped a prize at the British Archaeological Awards, the most prestigious awards in British Archaeology, where the judges were impressed by the wide-ranging nature of the archaeology that Scutt presents.
