Archaeologist Win Scutt discusses a search for diamonds off the coast of Namibia, which has led to the exciting discovery of Africa's oldest colonial shipwreck, an analysis of sculptures and carvings of Akhenaten, which reveals that he wasn't the manliest of Pharoahs; a large Roman cemetery that has been uncovered in Herefordshire, England--with some stunning finds; a mass Roman grave excavated in Gloucester in 2005, which may have contained the victims of a plague; experts' conservation of a remarkable medieval mosaic pavement in Westminster Abbey. Scutt's "This Week in the World of Archaeology" news feature is part of BBC Radio 5 Live's popular "Up All Night" programme. Interviewed by presenter Rhod Sharp, Scutt offers 15 minutes of archaeology each Tuesday, reaching over 1 million visitors who are mad enough to stay up to 3.30am GMT to listen. In 2006 Scutt's Radio 5 Live reports scooped a prize at the British Archaeological Awards, the most prestigious awards in British Archaeology, where the judges were impressed by the wide-ranging nature of the archaeology that Scutt presents.
