Win Scutt 's 'This Week in Archaeology' [audio 15min @2:30]

Archaeologist Win Scutt reports on the completion of the first season of excavation in an ancient city in Iran; a police guard protecting a site from "tombaroli" after builders stumbled upon a series of ancient tombs in Italy; archaeologists who have been digging on the edge of the Sussex Cliffs at Peacehaven Heights, England; a Viking sword that has been found in the Isle of Man, UK; archaeologists excavating a 1000-year-old canoe in Florida; and divers planning to search the Danube for the 16c Queen of Hungary's treasure. Scutt's "This Week in the World of Archaeology" news feature is part of BBC Radio 5 Live's popular "Up All Night" programme. Interviewed by presenter Rhod Sharp, Scutt offers 15 minutes of archaeology each Tuesday, reaching over 1 million visitors who are mad enough to stay up to 3.30am GMT to listen. In 2006 Scutt's Radio 5 Live reports scooped a prize at the British Archaeological Awards, the most prestigious awards in British Archaeology, where the judges were impressed by the wide-ranging nature of the archaeology that Scutt presents.
