It's been more than 80 years since a university professor created what eventually became Black History Month. Now in the age of President Barack Obama, some say the annual celebration has outlived its usefulness because it wrongfully separates black history from American history. In a recent article for the online magazine The Root, writer Michael Ross suggests that it's time to end Black History Month. Madeleine Brand talks with Ross about his piece.
