Assistant Curator position with the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation
Position will also be responsible for day-to-day curatorial responsibilities at Yorktown Victory Center on an ongoing basis, as well as support for changing exhibitions. This position provides museum education services to educate, interpret, and promote history represented thorough the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation. This position provides research in support of museum programming and develops, researches, interprets, preserves, and participates in management of the Foundation’s artifact collection.
TO QUALIFY: This position requires specialized knowledge of 18th-century English and American material culture, military and political history, as well as knowledge of professional curatorial standards and practices. PhD preferred. Significant experience with changing and permanent exhibit development, identifying and securing loaned artifacts, and strong writing and presentation skills.
