It is strange. Iran is not *completely* absent Ahmedinizad spoke at Columbia -- what? -- two years ago? And Iranian exiles speak on American campuses with some regularity. One possibility would be that Iran is likely to be a much more powerful influence in its region that are Burma, Sudan, or Zimbabwe in their regions.

I am rather befuddled with the strong parallel Romano is drawing between US academy re: Germany in 1930s and now in re: Iran. Leaving aside all else, the state of Iran is completely absent from US academic or speakers circuits. If mere condemnation is being outlined than why is he not insisting that college Presidents be vocal about Burma or Sudan or Zimbabwe, etc.

Strange.
