PETER GALBRAITH FIRED

UN envoy Peter Galbraith sacked after attack on Afghanistan poll fraud. He does not want Karzai declared a first round winner. I wonder if he has especially strong ties to Karzai's non Pashtoon rival. I can never forget a conference in which he encouraged Iraqi Kurds not to settle for anything but independence.

One thing is for sure - the infighting over Afghan policy is getting serious. Heads are rolling!
