Early Expert Opinions Are In ...

... on Cliopatria's new threads:

Alan Allport:"I have to say, it's very cool-looking."

KC Johnson:"Yes, it looks wonderful."

Adam Kotsko:"HOLY SHIT! Cliopatria looks cool now! ... I just wish Chun were here to see the redesign."

Scott McLemee:"The new design is SWEET. Good going!""Drat! It used to be that my site had the second most unpleasant design on the web. Now I'm dead last."

Eric Muller:"Nice new look over at the History News Network."

Jonathan Wilson:"HNN: Now with slightly less ugly ...."

If you have constructive suggestions about the finetuning of the new format, please direct them to Jeremy Boggs, jboggs*AT*gmu*dot*edu. Please don't be cranky.

I turn my back for a few days and you guys turn the world topsy-turvey!

The new look is great. Attractive to the eye but very readable.

test comment.

Ralph E. Luker - 8/9/2005

We will want to be sure that McLemee sees this clarification.

Scott McLemee - 8/9/2005

You may well be right. Thanks for pressing the point.

Adam Kotsko - 8/9/2005

I was arguing that his was the most unpleasant all along.

Jeremy Boggs - 8/9/2005

I'll take feedback, email me at jboggs AT gmu DOT edu.

Ben W. Brumfield - 8/9/2005

Is anyone soliciting feedback on the HNN facelift? There are a number of usability issues raised by the new design.

Ralph E. Luker - 8/9/2005

I take that to mean that, prior to its makeover, HNN was the most unpleasant looking site on the net; and, now, with its makeover, McLemee claims, at one forty two, to have the most unpleasant looking site, ... unless you can help him find "one forty three."

Adam Kotsko - 8/9/2005

I'm not following: now he's dead last?

Ralph E. Luker - 8/9/2005

There's still a lot of tinkering going on, so they should get uncocked.

Alan Allport - 8/9/2005

... the comments windows pop up cock-eyed now.
