Some Naughty Things

Brian Appleyard,"Just Their Type," Times Online, 19 November, reflects on our"insatiable appetite" for"literary gossip."

Paul Collins,"Dead Plagiarists Society," Slate, 21 November, argues that Google's digitization of texts seems bound to out some once venerated plagiarists in the next decade.

Clio Bluestocking Tales has ambivalent feelings about the attention that may come from being listed on Cliopatria's History Blogroll. She admits to being an"attention whore," but"academics just scare me on some primal level." Her conclusion:"F**k it."

Finally, Dr. History has been slumming on the net and found Naughty America. The site offers a game called"Naughty American History." You choose a male or a female professor and then face a series of multiple choice questions. For each right answer, the professor strips off an article of clothing. I'm with Dr. H. on this one. I'd have come closer to paying my history profs to keep their clothes on than encourage their stripping.
