Update: Salon is reporting that the Edwards campaign has fired Amanda Marcotte and Melissa McEwan; but it also reports that an Edwards spokesperson would" caution [Salon] against reporting that they have been fired. We will have something to say later." Greg Sargeant at TPM Café says that, beseiged from right and left, the Edwards campaign has bunkered down.

The photograph accompanying the article appears to have been photoshopped from last views of Coretta Scott King at Atlanta's Ebenezer Baptist Church. Editors at The Onion haven't been returning telephone calls of inquiry.
