I strongly suspect that it will, though I also think that the brouhaha over the lack of a "proper" ending for that show is absurd, since the show was never about big narratives but quotidian accomodation.
I just want to know for the record is "Soprano-esque " will be used in every review concerned with an ending. Seriously. let's move on.
Kakutani's review is early: according to the Washington Post, which demurred the opportunity, one of the discount online retailers screwed up and delivered about 1200 copies early. Some of them went to eBay, and some to reviewers, and now all of Potterdom is fighting a rear-guard action against plot spoilers.
Kakutani -- whose reviews rarely satisfy me -- is clearly in the "fan" category, putting Rowling in the class with Dickens and Tolkien. Hmm.
