Dumbest Headline of the Year Frontrunner




Perhaps this could be a regular feature, but I want to nominate today's New York Times sports section for the dumbest headline of 2005:

Eagles' Plan: Stop the Run, Stop the Pass.

Why yes, that is a cunning strategy. It is much better than the original Philly plan: Let them run, Let them pass, block a lot of punts.

And of course the article is a lot more sophisticated than this daffy headline. (Readers should submit suggestions with the following caveat: We are looking for headlines that are simply inane or idiotic, not ones with which you have a profound ideological disagreement.
